Why the split comes out clean
The Song Splitter runs on BS-RoFormer, the model that won the 2023 Sound Demixing Challenge. It is trained for exactly this two-way split, vocals versus everything else, so the instrumental is a true remainder of the mix rather than a rebuild from separate stems. Can I split the song from a video? Yes. Pull the audio out first with Extract Audio from Video, then upload it here.
Why can I still hear a little vocal in the instrumental? Heavy vocal effects such as thick reverb or vocoders can leave faint traces, because the model treats the effect as part of the voice. A better source file also helps: a 320 kbps mp3 or a lossless file splits more cleanly than a low-bitrate rip.
