AI Video Background Removal: Transparent or Solid-Color Backgrounds with Bria v3

Remove the background from any video in one pass. Upload a clip and get the subject back on a transparent background, or drop any solid color behind it: black, white, green for keying, or 8 more.

It runs on Bria’s third-generation background removal model, trained on fully licensed data. That matters if your work needs to be commercially safe end to end.

What can you do with it?

  • Make transparent video assets. Cutouts with a real alpha channel, ready to layer in any editor.
  • Generate your own green screen. Export the subject on solid green and key it later in any tool.
  • Composite people into new scenes. Remove the room, keep the person, place them anywhere.
  • Build clean product clips. Isolate an object on white or black for store pages and ads.
  • Keep the sound. Audio carries over to the output by default, so dialogue stays in sync.

How to use it

  1. Upload your video. MP4, MOV, WebM, any common format.
  2. Pick a background. Transparent by default; or choose a solid color from the picker.
  3. Run it. The model separates the subject frame by frame.
  4. Download the result, or use it right here in your next step.

What you get

One video file with the background gone. With the transparent default you get a WebM (VP9) with an alpha channel; solid colors work in any format.

Other containers are available in the settings, including ProRes for editing pipelines, MP4 for maximum compatibility, and GIF.

Settings

  • Background: Transparent, or one of 10 solid colors.
  • Output format: WebM (VP9) by default. Transparency needs an alpha-capable format: WebM, MKV (VP9), MOV (ProRes), or GIF. MP4 options are for solid-color backgrounds.
  • Preserve audio: on by default; switch it off for a silent output.

Tips

  • Transparent + WebM is the default pairing for a reason. One file, alpha channel included, small size.
  • Going into a professional edit? Switch the output to MOV (ProRes) so the alpha survives your NLE without recompression.
  • Choose green or magenta for later keying. Pick whichever color appears least on your subject.
  • Clear subjects separate best. Good lighting and some contrast with the background give the cleanest edges.
