Storm Recast: Be the One in the White Shirt
You’ve seen the shot. One person in a white shirt, back to the camera, facing rows of schoolboys in blazers. Then the whole school moves at once.
It’s “Storm” by GENER8ION & Yung Lean, directed by Romain Gavras, and it picked up 4 VMA nominations including Video of the Year. Now you can stand where Yung Lean stands.
Upload one photo and you get the 30-second clip back with you as the main character. Same steps, same crowd, same choreography, same track. Add a second photo and the crowd changes too. Add a third and the school becomes somewhere else.
How to make yours
- Main character. Upload a photo of whoever takes the white shirt. You, a friend, your cat in a suit.
- Other characters (optional). A photo of what the crowd should become: samurais, astronauts, your entire group chat.
- Location (optional). A photo of where it should happen: a parking garage, a cathedral, your office.
- Type anything else. “swap the other characters to samurais” is a complete instruction. So is nothing at all.
- Hit generate. The clip lands in your library, ready to post.
Leave the optional slots empty and only the main character changes. Everything else stays exactly as Gavras shot it.

Tips for a better result
- One person per photo. Crop out anyone else before uploading.
- Waist up or full body. The main character’s clothes get carried over from the photo. A face-only crop leaves the outfit to chance.
- Face forward, good light. The stare-down is a close-up on the crowd, and you’re what they’re staring at.
- For the crowd, one clear example. One samurai, not a battle scene. The model multiplies it.
- Keep instructions short. “swap the other characters to samurais” works. A paragraph about mood does nothing, since only who and where change.
- Run it twice. Each run comes out a little different. Keep the one where the turn lands.
FAQ
Is that the real song? Yes. The clip keeps its original sound.
Do I have to swap the crowd or the location? No. Both slots are optional. With just one photo, only the main character changes.
Can the crowd be one person repeated? Yes. Upload one photo in the Other characters slot and every boy in a blazer becomes that person.
Can I change what the main character wears? Yes. Type it in the prompt box, like “main character in a red tracksuit”. The face stays as in your photo.
Does the choreography change? No. The moves, the timing and the camera are fixed. What changes is who’s doing them and where.
