Turn an image into a 3D-printable STL

Upload a photo, product shot, or drawing and get back a full 3D model of the object, exported as an STL you can drop straight into your slicer. No modelling, no mesh editing, no converting between apps.

Most “image to STL” tools only push a picture up into a flat relief. This one builds the whole object, front, back, and sides, so you can print a figure, a part, or a prop you can actually hold.

How to convert an image to STL

  1. Attach a clear image of the object. PNG, JPG, and WEBP all work.
  2. Optionally, add up to three more images of the same object from other angles for a closer match.
  3. Run it. You get the 3D model and an STL file in your library.
  4. Download the STL and open it in Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura, or any other slicer.

FAQ

How do I turn a picture into an STL file?

Attach the picture and run it. The tool builds a 3D model of the object in the image and exports it as an STL, ready to print.

Can I convert a PNG or JPG to STL?

Yes. PNG, JPG, and WEBP images all work. A plain background and the whole object in frame give the best result.

Is this for flat logos and lithophanes?

No. This builds a three-dimensional object from your image. For flat text or a logo outline, a relief or extrusion tool is a better fit.

Will the print have colour?

STL files carry shape only, so the print uses whatever filament you load. For a coloured, textured 3D model to use on screen, use Image to 3D Model.

What if my slicer finds errors?

Run the STL through STL Repair to close holes and fix broken geometry before slicing.
